Matthew Van Osch, LMFT

Hey! My name is Matt, and I’m looking forward to meeting you. I’m a therapist who utilizes a variety of different approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Narrative Therapy. I have worked with clients from many different walks of life and in many different settings, such as high schools, colleges, community clinics, and in private practice. Everyone is unique, so my approach will be molded to accommodate your specific needs.

My goal as your therapist is to help you understand how your past experiences have shaped you and how those learnings impact the way you approach problems, your relationship with others, and your relationship with yourself. I believe you are the expert in your own experiences, and therefore, I take a cooperative approach while working together. My style is relational, collaborative, and flexible.

Ultimately, the most important factor in the success of your therapy is finding a therapist who you trust and feel you can be open with. So let’s meet and see if we are a good fit.

A little bit more about me. I was born and raised in the Bay Area and spent most of my life there. For the past 5 or so years I have also been living in other areas of the country. In my free time you’ll find me writing music, boxing, reading horror novels, hiking, or playing video games.
