Julie Hall is a Psychological Research Associate supervised by Dr. Lyndsay Reese and Dr. Shilpa Kapoor. She completed a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Virginia, a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and Neuroscience at Indiana University, and a Doctoral degree in Psychology at the University of Michigan. Dr. Hall also completed two years of training as a Visiting Scholar in the Departments of Psychology and Psychiatry at Stanford University.

Dr. Hall is excited to be a part of the Mind-Body team and is looking forward to using empirically validated therapy methods to treat children, teens, and adults with depression, substance abuse and addiction, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, phobias, OCD, and PTSD. She aims to use cognitive behavioral therapy to enable clients to live more fulfilling lives aligned with their individual values. Dr. Hall has experience working with clients from diverse ages and backgrounds, including individuals from various cultures, sexual orientations, disabilities, and economic and racial backgrounds.

Dr. Hall has over 10 years of experience providing cognitive and neuropsychological assessment, crisis intervention, and cognitive behavioral therapy to children, teens, and adults in hospital, school, university, and community mental health settings. In addition, she is interested in empirically validated treatments for anxiety and mood disorders and the interaction of biology and behavior. As a graduate student, she held leadership positions in the Association for Psychological Science and authored over a dozen scientific publications and book chapters along with numerous conference and workshop presentations. Dr. Hall was also the recipient of a prestigious National Science Foundation fellowship. Her Master’s thesis research was published in the Journal of Abnormal Psychology and her dissertation research received awards from the University of Michigan Graduate School, Association for Psychological Science, Cognitive Neuroscience Society, and Society for Psychophysiology Research.

Dr. Hall is excited to help clients overcome challenges and live a more fulfilling life and tailors her sessions to clients’ individual needs and values. She uses a biopsychosocial approach to better understand and treat clients’ mental health concerns. In her free time, Dr. Hall enjoys traveling, sailing, ballet, opera, trivia and casino games, live concerts, and sporting events, particularly Bay Area teams.
