Ajen Busher

My name is Jennifer Busher, and I am a registered associate marriage and family therapist supervised by Summer Hillas Buck. Please feel free to call me by my nickname, “Ajen”. I have clinical experience working with clients whose age, race, ethnicity, disability, education, and sexual identity have intersected with varying socioeconomic statuses. Adding my experiences of being in leadership as a program director for community mental health programs, I have a solid capability to model advocacy and empower those who have felt “silenced” by social pressures and overwhelmed by life’s responsibilities.

I am a person who reflectively listens.

I offer a non-judgmental and compassionate approach while being open to feedback. I do this by integrating the therapeutic modalities of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)– particularly trauma-focused CBT, dialectical behavioral therapeutic skills (DBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), and solution-focused therapy. In addition to these modalities, I use the core concepts of the neurosequential model of therapeutics (NMT) and feedback-informed treatment (FIT) to apply a course of treatment with the client and inform the therapeutic relationship while promoting safety.

Whether clients struggle to maintain their wellness, find it increasingly difficult to manage emotions, or notice that their familial or work relationships are suffering, my integrative approach to treatment can help clients develop new skills and build resilience.
